Future careers

The program prepares students for various careers and helps them develop a personal musical and artistic approach that considers the current developments in the artistic fields.
A professional musician’s career often includes a wide range of activities (“portfolio career”):

  • Orchestra musician, member of an instrumental or vocal ensemble
  • Chamber music, live performance
  • Live performance, cross-disciplinary artistic projects (music, dance, theater, etc.)
  • Musician-teacher, conservatory or music school teacher (bachelor in music and vocal teaching (DE))

Particular emphasis is placed on openness to other fields of application for string instruments: early music, traditional music, and contemporary creation.

Tailored programs

Two specific pathways are offered, depending on the student’s interests:

Spending part of your studies abroad offers many advantages:
– Discovering new cultures and different approaches to music, its teaching, and related professions
– Improving your foreign language skills– Enhancing your résumé/CV for future career opportunities
– Meeting new people and building a professional network

Any student enrolled in the bachelor in performance program (DNSPM) may apply for a study period abroad. Thanks to the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), studies completed abroad are recognized and credited within the academic program of the home institution.
