A unified start to the academic year for pôle Aliénor and PESMD Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The two higher education institutions for music and dance in Nouvelle Aquitaine are marking a turning point in their merger process at the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Under the sole general management of Pierre-Marie Quéré, the strategy to bring the two institutions together is already showing concrete results :

  • A new shared class of 47 music students has been integrated into the 13 departments spread across the two institutions.
  • The continuing professional development programs for arts education and performing arts professionals are shared by both institutions.
  • Educational monitoring tools and digital infrastructure have been harmonized, enabling the entire student, teaching, and administrative communities to work together effectively as a network.
  • Organizational support services have already been unified, such as international development and Erasmus+ project monitoring.
  • Several educational projects in music and dance are shared and will be rolled out for the 170 students at both sites throughout the academic year.

These results reinforce the continued rapprochement between pôle Aliénor and PESMD Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which aim to merge into a single institution during the first semester of 2026, with the support of their partners.
